Elizabeth Hackenberg

Hackenberg received her MFA (2024) from Pratt Institute where she developed a practice in textile-based installations, and a BFA with a minor in Eastern Philosophy from Birmingham-Southern College. She conducted independent studies in Osaka, Japan and the Southwest desert, researching petroglyphs and wabi-sabi (2020). In 2021, a car accident prompted a TBI transforming her practice from portraiture into a meditation on interior spaces. Hackenberg is currently living in Brooklyn, working with textiles, outdoor temporary installations, performances, and poetry.
