Mou Yao

Mou Yao graduated from the China Academy of Art. She focuses on “intangible things”—those elusive, untouchable connections existing deep within both the external world and the inner self. As a Theremin player and cross-media practitioner, she translates bodily movements into sonic sculptures. Her creative practice is dedicated to reconstructing the narrative relationship between the body and its surrounding environment through the interplay of improvisation, organic ambient textures, and visual contexts.
